Lateral Thinking

An ode to Edward De Bono. Who claims to have invented the idea of Lateral Thinking.
This are some questions asked in psychometric tests employed by many MNCs. It is claimed that these questions highlight if a man has the problem solving or lateral thinking capability. A man ruined my afternoon with these 'chalis' and i think i should share it with someone. Answer it if you can.

1. Anthony and Cleopatra are found dead in a room. A man enters the room and sees an empty bowl with the whole water spilled on the wooden floor. A cat runs out scared. How did they die?

:> Anthony and Cleopatra are fishes. The cat took them out of the bowl intending to eat, but ran off seeing the man enter.


2. A man working with the finance department lives on the 14th floor of an apartment and comes down to go to work every single day by lift. When he arrives back in the evening, he looks around to see if anyone is around. if someone is around he goes straight to the 14th floor,else he gets down at the 8th floor and climbs up to the 14th floor. Why does he climb?

:> He's a dwarf. He can't reach the 14th floor button on the lift by himself.

വിശാലമായ ഗാലറിയില്‍.....
തണലേകും മെക്‍ട്രീയുടെ അടിയില്‍....
എം .എച്‌ഇലെ വിശാലമായ മുറികളില്‍...
കാന്റീനിലെ മണമേകും ചില്ലരമാലയുടെ ചാരേ...

ഇത്ര വിശാലമായ കോളേജ്‌ ക്യാമ്പസിന്റെ ഹൃദയമായ ഭാഗങ്ങളില്‍ നമ്മുടെ സൗഹൃദം പരത്തുവാന്‍ ഇറങ്ങൂ സുഹൃത്തേ.... ഇറങ്ങൂ....

Year end..

Two years have passed in academic terms as i write this. Two years of what i don't know. It's almost of everything. Friendships, fights, laughs, sorrows, and everything conflicting. Two years just flew by.

I remember the first time i'd been to this college. It was all alien. The huge welcome sign that read "WELCOME TO REDFORT", the smiling seniors, anxious classmates. Those times being afraid of not knowing anybody. Many a hello's from all around. More than a thousand new faces. It was totally a new life.

Now into the third year, and looking back, i realize that it is about memories. About the times spent together, the laughter shared. Seeing the tears of the passing out seniors, only now realizing that two years from now, and we stand there, tears swelling up inside.

It is a fair estimation that the coming two years are the last of college days in life. We've done a lot. But, there is still a lot to do. We've learned many a things in here. Yet, there is a lot that we need to learn.

I get emotional thinking about leaving two years from now, i can fairly comprehend how the people, whose farewell we made all sort of fun,feel. We'll surely miss you lot. The only consolation prize is the 500 plus new faces who're soon to come. Just kidding.. lolz..

Enough sentimental. We're gonna enjoy the next two years to the max. Don't wanna miss for anything.
